All four sidespersons will be needed for all collections.  Take your bags before the start of the service. At the Offetory hymn and once the Oblations bearers have reached the choir stalls, two sidespersons start passing the bag at the front of the north aisle and the other two at the south aisle, all meeting at the font.  All four process to the altar, place the bags on server’s plate, wait, return server’s bow then process back to your pew.

COUNTING THE MONEY

When counting the money, please ensure that all money is taken from all Gift Aid envelopes, including the coloured appeal envelopes, and the amount noted on the front top right corner (this applies whether the Gift Aid details have been filled in or not).  The envelopes should be put in the plastic wallet in the box on the table.  (This does not apply to coffee money, which should be placed unopened in the bank bag).  Please wear your name badges when on duty.

Please be careful when;

1. opening the envelopes, as the bank will no longer accept notes with bits missing.  If the note does get torn, put the torn parts in a plastic coin bag so that the bits can stuck back together by John Long.

2. counting the money, as mistakes have been occurring; with money being left in envelopes, amounts not noted on envelopes and incorrect totals on the slip. If you are unable to act as sidesperson on your assigned date, please arrange a substitute, amend the list on the church notice board and let me know.

 Thank you

Michael Bitschiné
