News:

As well as a donation of £25,000, a generous Christian friend in the City has given the appeal an additional £100,000 in pound-for-pound matched funding. This means that, for example, a gifted-aided donation of £50 would result in the appeal receiving £128.20. We are keen to make full use of this generous offer! If just 100 out of our 180-or-so families were to donate on average £50 a month for a year, gifted-aided, the appeal would benefit by over £150,000!

Dates for your diary:

Dinner – Saturday, 2nd February at Thriftwood, 3-course with a choice of menu including vegetarian option, wine included. Tickets at £25 are available from Marian Long (226200) or Gill Bitschiné (229313). If you can help with this event, or are in secondary school and could be a waiter, please speak to Marian Long.

Do you have any item you think could be sold on eBay to raise funds for the appeal? If so, or you want more information, contact Gill Bitschiné (229313).

Do please remember that, with a generous offer of matched funding, any donation you make to the appeal is currently being doubled. Including gift aid, this means a £50 donation will be worth £128.20 to the appeal at no additional cost to you.

The Balloon Race this year had four winners, whose balloons all reached the same place in South Woodham Ferrers. They are Su Shephard, Michael Yellop, A Ratcliffe and Mimitris Vartis – congratulations to all on their aeronautical skills!

Sponsored Slim – hopefully you have noticed that Paul Barrell is looking slimmer, as he has managed to lose 12lbs. Could all those who kindly agreed to support him give their sponsorship money to Gill Bitschiné (229313)?

We are delighted to have been granted faculty (the church’s planning permission) & planning permission for the new extension. Do look at the Keys Appeal notice board at the back of church to read some of the interesting documents involved.

Chris Luck gave up smoking!

From his keyboard; "It's true. I am planning to give up smoking on "Ash" Wednesday - February 21st 2007. The main reason is that I am trying to raise £5,000 for my local church, which is in the middle of an Appeal to raise £400,000 to extend our facilities for local community use. I only launched this element last week and already over £2,000 has been pledged."

All appeal donations are a vital and valued part of this exciting project. It is possible to commemorate a loved one or a significant event, for instance a wedding anniversary, in a Book of Commemoration. To avail yourself of this opportunity, we would appreciate an appropriate donation: please pick up a form.
